Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham S25
Salary: £460 - £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and support staff to provide individual and small-group assistance to students with additional needs. You will help implement tailored learning plans and contribute to creating a structured and engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised support strategies.
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to monitor progress and adjust support where required.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to review meetings when necessary.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• A strong understanding of different additional needs and support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
• Ability to adapt to varying classroom situations and student needs.
