A well regarded and supportive primary school in Loughton is seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis, starting immediately.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across EYFS through to KS2, covering classes and supporting learning throughout the school. The school has a strong reputation locally, a welcoming staff team, and a positive learning environment where both pupils and staff are valued.
Importantly, a formal HLTA qualification is not essential. If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in your career and gain further responsibility, this role offers an excellent progression opportunity.
About the Role

Covering whole classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher

Delivering pre-planned lessons confidently and effectively

Supporting pupils’ academic progress and engagement

Managing classroom behaviour positively and consistently

Providing targeted support where required

Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders
-
Contributing to a supportive and inclusive school environment
The Ideal Candidate
-
Experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA
-
Confident leading a class independently
-
Strong behaviour management skills
-
Able to build positive, professional relationships with children

Adaptable and comfortable working across different year groups

Organised, proactive, and reliable

Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
