Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: York
Pay Rate: £88 – £110 per day
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: April 2026 or sooner
GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist primary setting in the York area.
About the School
This specialist primary provision supports pupils with a range of special educational needs including ASD, speech and language difficulties and moderate learning needs. The school provides a structured and nurturing environment with small class sizes and strong staff collaboration to ensure pupils receive tailored support.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support

Assist pupils in accessing the primary curriculum

Support pupils working towards EHCP targets

Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

Work closely with teachers and the SEN team
Requirements

Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEN

Understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning

Patient, supportive and proactive approach

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
