SEMH Teacher
Location: Selby, North Yorkshire

Contract: Full-Time (1.0) or Part-Time (0.8)
GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher with a specialism in English to GCSE to join a supportive school in Selby from Easter 2026. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in a small, supportive setting where individual student progress is the priority.
About the School:
The school provides tailored education for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They offer small class sizes of up to 4 students, creating a safe, inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
Role Details:
- Start Date: Easter 2026
- Subject: English (up to GCSE level)
- Class Sizes: Up to 4 students per group
- Specialist Requirement: Experience teaching SEMH students
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging, personalised English lessons for SEMH students
- Support students in achieving their full potential in GCSE English
- Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to students and staff
As the Ideal SEMH Teacher, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English to GCSE.
- Proven experience supporting SEMH students in a classroom setting.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.
- Patience, be adaptable, and committed to student wellbeing and success.
