Job Title: RE Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S5, S9)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you an inspiring RE Teacher with a passion for encouraging thoughtful discussion and critical thinking?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to work in schools across Sheffield (S5, S9), delivering engaging lessons and supporting students to develop a deeper understanding of world religions, ethics, and philosophy.
As an RE Teacher, you will play a vital role in encouraging critical thinking, respectful discussion, and cultural awareness within the classroom. You will plan and deliver lessons in line with the curriculum and syllabus, ensuring that students of all abilities are supported and challenged appropriately.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons in line with the curriculum and syllabus
- Teach across key stages 3, 4 and 5, supporting students of varying abilities
- Encourage respectful debate and critical thinking within lessons
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear feedback
- Maintain strong classroom management and a safe learning environment
- Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school activities
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
- Experience teaching RE in schools
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
