About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with additional learning needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence within a supportive classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage social and emotional development.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Understanding of various Special Educational Needs and effective support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
