Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are hiring a Science Teacher to support schools in the Barnsley (S70, S71) area, delivering engaging lessons that build knowledge, curiosity, and confidence in scientific thinking.

In this role, the Science Teacher will plan and deliver structured lessons across key scientific topics, creating a positive and inclusive classroom where pupils feel encouraged to ask questions and investigate ideas.

Key Duties of Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver well-organised science lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Encourage practical investigation, observation, and analytical thinking.
  • Maintain positive behaviour and a focused learning environment.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching science in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting learners of all abilities.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
