Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to help students engage with learning, regulate emotions, and develop positive relationships within the school environment.

Responsibilities:
• Support students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one and small-group basis, helping them access learning effectively.
• Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour and support plans.
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive environment that promotes emotional regulation and engagement.
• Support classroom teachers with lesson delivery and behaviour management strategies.
• Encourage positive social interaction and help students develop coping strategies.
• Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and well-being.
• Provide personal and emotional support in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
• A good understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a calm, empathetic approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from senior staff.
