Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Support pupils with additional needs to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential each day.

GSL Education are hiring an SEN Teaching Assistant to support schools across Sheffield, particularly in the S2 and S3 areas. You will provide tailored guidance to pupils who need extra support, helping them engage confidently with learning.

In this role, the Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will work closely with teachers and pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping learners stay engaged, confident, and supported throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs during lessons.
  • Assist pupils in understanding tasks and accessing classroom activities.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to follow individual support plans.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
  • A supportive and proactive approach to classroom assistance.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
