About the Role
GSL Education are seeking a proactive and supportive Teaching Assistant to work alongside class teachers in delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils’ learning. The role will involve working with individuals and small groups, helping to reinforce learning, build confidence, and support classroom routines. Opportunities are available on both short-term and long-term bases, with flexible working options.
Responsibilities

Support teaching and learning across the classroom

Provide 1:1 and small group academic support

Assist with lesson preparation and classroom resources

Help pupils stay engaged and on task

Support pupils with additional learning needs

Promote positive behaviour and inclusion

Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback

Provide personal care support where required
Qualifications
-
Experience working with children or young people
-
Previous Teaching Assistant experience (desirable)

Understanding of SEN needs is advantageous

Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Basic understanding of safeguarding practices

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
