Job Title: Behaviour Support / Mentor
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support / Mentor to work in schools across Wakefield (WF4), supporting students who require additional guidance to succeed in their education.
As a Behaviour Support / Mentor, you will work closely with students who display challenging behaviour or require emotional and behavioural support. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, improving engagement, and supporting students to access learning effectively within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support to students
- Support students in managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
- Help students remain engaged in lessons and daily school routines
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs
- A strong understanding of behaviour management and positive intervention strategies
- The ability to build trusting and professional relationships with students
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
