Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistants
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

Provide vital support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them thrive in the classroom.

GSL Education are inviting reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to join a school within the Wakefield community (covering WF4), providing essential support to pupils with special educational needs.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with pupils and teachers to deliver 1:1 or small group support, ensuring learning is accessible and engaging for all.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN during lessons and activities.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and classroom support techniques.
  • Strong communication, patience, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupils’ wellbeing.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
