Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Salary: £460 – £650 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a school in Sheffield, supporting teaching and learning by supervising classes during teacher absence and ensuring continuity in students’ education.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes across various subjects, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work. This role is ideal for individuals considering a career in education or those with strong classroom management skills.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
• Support students with their work, encouraging focus, participation, and independence.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour, and any issues arising during lessons.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and promote student well-being at all times.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organised, and confident in a classroom setting.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working across different subjects and year groups.
• A professional and proactive attitude towards supporting student learning.
