Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham (S25)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs, both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help deliver tailored learning activities and provide consistent, one-to-one or small-group support.

Responsibilities:
• Support students with special educational needs in their learning and development.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage students’ independence, confidence, and engagement in lessons.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback where required.
• Support students with personal care needs when necessary, ensuring dignity and respect.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
• Understanding of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach to supporting students.
• Ability to adapt to the individual needs of learners in a school setting.
