About the Role
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to work closely with pupils who require additional day-to-day assistance. The role involves supporting students both in and out of the classroom, helping them engage with learning, develop independence, and manage social and emotional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals with experience in education, care, youth work, or support settings.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support

Assist pupils in accessing learning activities

Support social, emotional, and behavioural development

Help implement individual support and intervention plans

Promote independence and confidence

Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff

Support during transitions, breaks, and activities

Monitor and record pupil progress

Provide personal care support where required
Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people in a support setting
-
Understanding of SEN and/or SEMH needs (desirable)

Patient, caring, and adaptable approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to build positive professional relationships

Relevant care, support, or education experience

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
