About the Role
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils who require additional support. You will assist learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence within the classroom. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in pupils’ day-to-day school experience.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN

Assist pupils in accessing classroom learning

Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs

Support communication, interaction, and emotional development

Implement EHCP targets and intervention strategies

Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback

Provide personal care support where required
Qualifications
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
-
Understanding of needs such as Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties

Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Relevant Teaching Assistant or care experience

Knowledge of safeguarding practices

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
