Job Title: SEMH Support worker
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Payrate: £95-£115 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are pleased to appoint an SEMH Support Worker to work with a school in the Wakefield (WF4) area, providing essential support to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
In this role, the Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Support Worker will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them manage emotions, build resilience, and engage positively with learning.
Responsibilities of SEMH Support Worker:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs inside and outside the classroom.
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development.
- Support pupils in accessing learning and maintaining focus during lessons.
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement support strategies.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all pupils.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Strong communication, patience, and empathy.
- Ability to build positive relationships and act as a trusted adult for pupils.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
