Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students who require additional help managing their emotions and behaviour in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils engage with learning and develop essential life skills.

Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively with learning.
• Support the implementation of individual behaviour plans and tailored learning strategies.
• Foster a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
• Encourage emotional regulation, social interaction, and positive relationships.
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations with teaching staff.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs or in a similar support role is desirable.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
