Location: Newcastle (Jesmond)
Salary: £151.87 – £213.36 per day
Start Date: 23rd February

A ‘Good’ secondary school in Jesmond, Newcastle is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join their supportive and forward-thinking team from 23rd February. The Headteacher is keen to appoint an English Teacher who is passionate about their subject and committed to achieving strong outcomes for students.

This English Teacher role is ideal for someone with excellent subject knowledge and effective behaviour management skills. The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers as well as ECTs who are eager to develop their career as an English Teacher.

The main duties of the English Teacher will include:

  • Planning, teaching, and assessing the English curriculum.

  • Delivering engaging lessons as an English Teacher that inspire learners.

  • Selecting appropriate resources and instructional materials.

  • Following the school’s behaviour management policy consistently.

  • Promoting independence and positive learning behaviours.

  • Providing a high standard of safeguarding and pastoral care.

The ideal English Teacher will:

  • Hold QTS in English.

  • Have a degree in English or a related subject.

  • Be passionate about working as an English Teacher.

  • Be proactive, energetic, kind, and caring.

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

  • Have a fully checkable work history.
