1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Tonbridge, Kent
Salary: £88.94 - £110 per day (negotiable based on experience)
Start date: Monday 9th February 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term supply (Rolling week-to-week)

We have an important opportunity for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded secondary academy at their Tonbridge campus. This is a full-time, long-term supply position starting on Monday 9th February. The selected 1:1 Teaching Assistant will be working closely with a young male student who requires a high level of individualised support to access the curriculum and manage his school day.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a committed pastoral and SEND team that values consistency and professional expertise. Due to specific safeguarding considerations and the nature of the student’s support plan, there is a preference for a male candidate for this particular 1:1 Teaching Assistant position.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

Provide consistent, high-quality 1:1 support to a male student throughout the school day.

Manage complex needs and maintain professional boundaries at all times.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure the student is engaged in his learning.

Foster a positive and safe learning environment while supporting the student's wellbeing.

Adhere to school policies on safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusion.
In order to be considered for this 1:1 Teaching Assistant role, the candidate must:

Have proven 1:1 experience within a secondary school or alternative provision setting.

Demonstrate the ability to manage complex needs with patience and professionalism.

Have full availability for 5 days a week starting from Monday 9th February.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
