SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Buckhurst Hill
Pay Rate: £90 – £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am – 3:15pm
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Buckhurst Hill. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and build confidence. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels supported.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide effective 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist with delivering tailored SEN interventions and learning activities
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider SEN team
  • Help maintain an inclusive, welcoming, and safe learning environment
  • Follow all school policies, including safeguarding procedures

Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Strong SEN experience and knowledge
  • Recent primary school-based experience
  • Ability to deliver focused 1:1 SEN support
  • Willingness to follow school procedures and work effectively as part of a team
  • Good level of spoken and written English
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
