Behaviour Support
Location: Hartlepool
Salary: £95 – £125 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time
GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support professional to work within a supportive school environment in Hartlepool. This Behaviour Support role is ideal for someone who is confident in building trust, promoting positive behaviour, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning in a calm and encouraging way.
As a Behaviour Support practitioner, you will work closely with pupils who require additional guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour. The school is looking for a Behaviour Support professional who is patient, resilient, and able to create a safe and structured learning environment without the role feeling intimidating or overwhelming.
The Role Will Include:

Delivering targeted Behaviour Support on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Supporting pupils to develop emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.

Assisting pupils to remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day.

Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams.

Promoting a calm, inclusive, and consistent learning environment.

Acting as a positive role model while providing high-quality Behaviour Support.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience in a Behaviour Support, SEN, SEMH, pastoral, or youth work role (desirable).

Be calm, empathetic, and confident when managing behaviours that challenge.

Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Be available to work Monday to Friday.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

Have a fully checkable work history.
This Behaviour Support role requires a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
