Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day supply
Can you support pupils with additional needs and help them succeed in their learning by building confidence, resilience, and essential skills.
GSL Education are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barnsley (S70, S71), providing tailored support to pupils who require extra help to access the curriculum effectively.
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils to support their academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring they feel included and confident in the classroom.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to pupils with additional needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Assist class teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to learning support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
