Payrate: £13.50 -£14.30 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a resilient and committed Behaviour Mentor to work within an Alternative Provision (AP) school in Wakefield (WF4). This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students who require structured guidance to re-engage with education and develop positive behaviours.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may present challenging behaviour, providing consistent support and helping them to develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive learning habits. The successful Behaviour Mentor will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted behaviour support to students within an AP setting
- Support pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural needs
- Implement behaviour strategies and positive interventions
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support student progress
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional well-being
- Act as a positive role model and trusted adult
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour confidently and professionally
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
