Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Payrate: £160-£210 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
Setting: Alternative Provision (AP) School
Can you provide the support and care pupils with SEMH needs require flourishing in a calm, structured classroom.
GSL Education are recruiting a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision (AP) school in Wakefield (WF4). This role is suited to a dedicated Teachers who can deliver meaningful learning experiences while supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs, helping students re-engage with education in a safe and supportive environment. The successful SEMH Teacher will play a pivotal role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic progress.
Key Duties OF Teacher (SEMH):
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons to meet SEMH needs.
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams and support staff.
- Monitor progress and adapt learning approaches accordingly.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
