Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £460 – £600 per week

Are you a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant looking to support students who need guidance beyond the classroom? About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will help create a calm, consistent learning environment and support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, contributing to their academic progress and personal development.
Responsibilities:
• Support students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them engage with learning
• Assist the class teacher in delivering structured and supportive lessons
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
• Implement personalised support strategies and behaviour plans
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour
Qualifications:
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
• A caring and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners
