Work Placement Support / Job Coach (SEND)

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support pupils with additional learning needs across workplace placements, learning bases, and classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities include:

Employability & Work Placement Support

  • Support pupils to develop job-specific and employability skills using the Employability Skills Framework
  • Break down tasks, model positive workplace behaviours, and encourage independence and self-assessment
  • Monitor and review progress against individual targets and PLPs
  • Support pupils in on-site and off-site placements, following risk assessments and setting expectations
  • Liaise with employers, teachers, SLT, and external professionals
  • Create tailored resources and job support packs

Learning & Classroom Support

  • Build positive working relationships with pupils
  • Support individuals and small groups with learning activities
  • Assist with communication, literacy, numeracy, and ICT in line with personalised learning plans
  • Encourage pupils to remain on task and engaged

Pupil Wellbeing & Safeguarding

  • Promote pupil wellbeing at all times, including supporting medical and personal care needs where required
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with school policies
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

Professional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct and all school policies
  • Attend training, appraisal meetings, and contribute to team discussions
  • Assist with resources, displays, and basic administrative tasks

Full-time 27.5 hours per week (term time only)

- Monday to Thursday - 9 am to 3pm - Friday 9am to 12:30pm
