Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are hiring an inspiring SEN Teaching Assistant to provide consistent and meaningful support within inclusive classrooms. The role is based in schools across Sheffield, specifically within the S2 and S3 postcodes.

In this role, the Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will work closely with pupils who require additional help, adapting resources and approaches to meet individual learning, social, and emotional needs while promoting independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and adapt materials where required.
  • Support engagement, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to meet learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN teams to support progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
