Role: Behaviour Support/ Mentor
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
Are you a patient, resilient, and motivated Behaviour Support/ Mentor looking to make a real difference in young people’s lives? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support/ Mentor to join a supportive school environment in Wakefield (WF4).
As a Behaviour Support/ Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils who require additional guidance with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in behaviour support, youth work, SEN, or pastoral care who are passionate about helping pupils succeed.
Key Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support/ Mentor:
- Provide targeted behaviour support on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Help manage behaviour in classrooms and around the school.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour plans.
- Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement and confidence.
- Maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Behaviour Support Assistant, or similar role.
- Strong communication, patience, and de-escalation skills.
- A proactive, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour confidently and professionally.
- A genuine commitment to supporting young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
