Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are appointing an SEMH Teacher to provide structured, nurturing support within specialist and alternative provision settings. Based in schools across Wakefield (WF4), the role focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher, you will deliver personalised lessons that support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and academic progress. You will help pupils re-engage with learning by creating a calm, safe, and understanding classroom environment.
Key Duties of SEMH Teacher:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet SEMH needs.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Create a structured, supportive, and predictable learning environment.
- Track progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
