SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Selby
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full-Time
GSL Education are recruiting a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support secondary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in Selby.
About the School
The school has a strong pastoral framework and focuses on emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress. Staff are trained in behaviour management and trauma-informed practices.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils displaying challenging behaviours

Provide emotional regulation and mentoring support

Assist with behaviour plans and interventions

Build positive relationships with students
Requirements

Experience working with SEMH needs

Calm and confident behaviour management skills

Ability to work under pressure

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
