SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Selby
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a secondary school setting in Selby. This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting students with additional learning needs and helping them access the curriculum confidently.

About the School
The school promotes inclusive learning and provides structured SEN support within mainstream secondary education. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils receive consistent and tailored interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Assist teachers with differentiated learning activities

  • Promote engagement, independence, and confidence

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Requirements

  • Experience supporting SEN pupils in secondary schools

  • Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach

  • Strong communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
