Job Title: SEMH TA
Location: Chesterfield (S43)
Payrate: £98-£108 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

Schools in Chesterfield (S43) and GSL Education are looking for a committed SEMH TA to provide tailored support to pupils who need extra guidance to thrive in a structured and nurturing environment.

As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will support students with challenging behaviour or emotional regulation, helping them stay engaged in learning, build positive routines, and grow in confidence inside and outside the classroom.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Support emotional regulation and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff.
  • Help create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an SEMH TA or in a similar SEN-focused role.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
