Job Title: Challenging Behaviour Mentor (Drivers only)
Location: Chesterfield
(S43)
Payrate: £98-£108 Per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Challenging Behaviour Mentor to support students across Chesterfield schools. This role requires a driver, with placements available in the S43 district and nearby areas.

As a Challenging Behaviour Mentor (CBM), you will provide structured support, clear boundaries, and practical strategies to help pupils stay engaged, while fostering stability, positive choices, and reducing barriers to learning.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour strategies and support emotional regulation.
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small intervention groups.
  • Respond calmly to challenging situations and help de-escalate behaviour.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, Special Educational Needs (SEN), and pastoral teams.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Challenging Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Must be a driver with access to a vehicle due to travel requirements.
  • Strong resilience, patience, and confidence in managing complex situations.
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
