GSL Education are seeking a committed History Teacher to join a welcoming girls’ secondary school and sixth form in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a supportive academic environment while enjoying a flexible four-day working week.
The successful History Teacher will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5, inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of historical concepts and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities of the History Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Inspire students through creative and engaging teaching approaches.
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress effectively.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Contribute positively to the wider department and school community.
Requirements for the History Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching History at secondary level (KS3–KS4; KS5 desirable).
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
