SEMH Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
GSL Education are currently recruiting a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a supportive school in Middlesbrough. This SEMH Teacher role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs and helping them to succeed both academically and emotionally.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, delivering engaging and structured lessons while promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement with learning. The school is keen to appoint an SEMH Teacher who is patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
The Role of the SEMH Teacher Will Include:

Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet individual SEMH needs.

Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and managing behaviour positively.

Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

Working closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and external professionals.

Monitoring pupil progress and adapting strategies accordingly.

Providing a high standard of safeguarding and pastoral care as an SEMH Teacher.
The Ideal SEMH Teacher Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.

Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Be resilient, empathetic, and flexible in approach.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

Have a fully checkable work history.
