Design Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a creative Design Technology (DT) Teacher to lead practical and theory-based lessons that develop innovation, problem-solving, and technical skills for schools in Barnsley (S70, S71). This role is perfect for someone who loves hands-on learning and bringing design concepts to life.


Your Creative Challenge

  • Teach Design Technology across key stages with energy and clarity
  • Guide students through design, making, and evaluating projects
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, and real-world thinking
  • Promote safe use of tools and materials in workshops

A Day in Your DT Teacher Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based DT lessons
  • Support students of varying abilities and adapt lessons accordingly
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring classroom/workshop
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and resources

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualified DT Teacher (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching DT in a secondary school environment
  • Strong classroom and workshop management skills
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and student-focused approach as a DT Teacher
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
