Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day supply

GSL Education are recruiting motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to work with schools situated in Barnsley’s S70 and S71 areas, offering tailored support to pupils across varied educational settings.
In this role, the Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will work closely with teachers and pupils to support learning, build confidence, and help create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Assist with classroom activities and adapt resources where required.
- Support emotional regulation, communication, and engagement.
- Work one-to-one or in small groups to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN teams to monitor and support progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
