SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Pay Rate: £90 – £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN TA who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
About the Role:
As an SEN TA, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and support small group interventions when required. Collaborating with the class teacher and SEN team, you will help students access learning, develop confidence, and strengthen their social and emotional skills. This long-term, full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful and lasting impact.
Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide effective 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
- Deliver and support small group interventions
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and well-being
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN team
- Contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Always follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
Requirements for SEN TA:
- Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD
- Recent school-based experience
- Ability to lead activities and deliver 1:1 SEN tailored interventions
- A warm, patient, and empathetic personality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection
