Location: Rotherham (S25)
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support the delivery of personalised learning, behaviour management, and social-emotional development. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with students, enabling them to reach their potential in a structured and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of individual learning plans and personalised strategies to meet students’ SEMH needs.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust, engagement, and confidence.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities tailored to students’ abilities and needs.
  • Collaborate with staff and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Support students with personal care, hygiene, and social skills as needed.
  • Encourage students to participate fully in school activities, promoting independence.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEMH or in a similar teaching assistant role is preferred.
  • Understanding of SEMH needs and evidence-based support strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to student development and well-being.
