About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, maintain classroom management, and support students’ learning. You will ensure that lessons run smoothly, follow plans provided by teaching staff, and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in lessons across a variety of subjects and key stages.
- Maintain classroom behaviour and a safe, structured environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared work and support students in completing tasks.
- Monitor student engagement and provide constructive feedback where appropriate.
- Report to teaching staff regarding student behaviour, progress, and any issues.
- Support students’ learning and well-being during lessons.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a teaching support or supervisory role is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students across different abilities and subjects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable and confident in managing lessons with minimal supervision.
