SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education and schools in Sheffield (S2 and S3) are seeking a dedicated Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This role is well suited to someone who can remain calm under pressure and build trust through positive relationships.
What Makes This SEMH TA Role Different
Rather than focusing only on academic support, you’ll play a vital part in helping pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and re-engage with school life.
Your Day-to-Day
- Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
- Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
- Implementing personalised support plans
- Encouraging positive choices and routines
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

- Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or vulnerable young people
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
