We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Motor Mechanic to join our team on a fixed-term contract, with the opportunity to become permanent, working within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school environment in Dorchester.

About the School

Based in Dorchester, this School provides an alternative provision for students who, for a variety of reasons, have found attending mainstream school challenging. Supporting young people referred by local schools and authorities across Dorset, offering a more tailored, practical, and supportive approach to education.

Students benefit greatly from hands-on, vocational learning, helping them build confidence, skills, and positive pathways for the future.

The Role

As a Motor Mechanic, you will:

  • Deliver practical motor mechanics sessions to small groups of students

  • Support learners with varying SEN needs in a calm, structured environment

  • Help students develop technical skills, confidence, and employability

  • Work closely with teaching and support staff to create an engaging learning experience

  • Act as a positive role model, promoting safe working practices and professionalism

About You

  • Qualified or experienced Motor Mechanic

  • Passionate about sharing your skills and knowledge with young people

  • Patient, adaptable, and supportive in your approach

  • Experience working with young people or SEN is desirable, but not essential – training and support can be provided
