ART Teacher
Location: Lewisham
Salary: £160–£265 per day
Start Date: After Feb Half Term
Contract: Part-Time, Maternity Cover
Working Days: 3 days/week (Wednesday–Friday)

GSL Education London Branch are looking for an experienced Art Teacher to join a welcoming girls’ secondary school and sixth form in Lewisham. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Art Teacher who enjoys inspiring creativity and confidence in young people. The school is well-resourced, supportive, and values the impact a skilled Art Teacher can have on students’ artistic development.

As an Art Teacher, you will teach engaging lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, encouraging students to explore a range of artistic techniques and ideas. This role is ideal for a committed Art Teacher seeking a part-time maternity cover position in a positive and well-led school.

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging Art lessons as an Art Teacher

  • Teach Art across secondary and sixth form levels

  • Assess, track, and support student progress

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and independent thinking

  • Work collaboratively with the Art department and wider school team

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and safeguarding as an Art Teacher

Requirements:

  • Qualified Art Teacher with UK QTS or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Art in a UK secondary school or sixth form

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Good knowledge of the Art curriculum

  • Ability to motivate and inspire students

  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
