About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work directly with students to support their learning, behaviour, and personal development. This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, hands-on assistance and make a real impact on the daily experience of learners with additional needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support students with their learning and engagement during lessons.
- Assist with behaviour management and help maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Implement personalised learning plans and interventions under teacher guidance.
- Support students with personal care, hygiene, and eating where necessary.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction among students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Understanding of SEN and strategies to support students with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and adaptability to meet the dynamic needs of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
