Supply SEN Teacher

Salary: £135 – £185 per day

The Role

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teacher to work on supply at a specialist school supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a real difference in a supportive, inclusive environment.

You will deliver engaging lessons and provide personalised support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they are able to access the curriculum and make progress. You will work closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team to maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons tailored to the needs of SEN pupils across a variety of subjects.
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development through inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and pastoral staff to maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain high standards of pupil care and wellbeing.

As the Ideal Candidate Teacher, you should be:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with experience teaching pupils with SEN.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Committed to inclusive education and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and parents.
  • Dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic about making a positive impact on pupils’ learning.
