IT Technician
Location: Hackney
Salary: £100 – £130 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full Time, Monday to Friday (working hours between 7:00 am – 4:30 pm)

GSL Education London Branch are looking for an experienced IT Technician to join a coeducational comprehensive secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hands-on IT Technician who is confident in supporting staff and students in a busy school environment. The successful IT Technician will play a key role in keeping the school’s IT systems running smoothly and efficiently.

As an IT Technician, you will be based on site and will work closely with teaching and support staff to provide day-to-day technical support. This IT Technician role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and supporting learning through effective IT provision. Responsibilities Include:

  • Install Windows and software applications on school computers

  • Provide day-to-day technical support as an IT Technician across the school

  • Change account passwords and update group memberships

  • Carry out classroom maintenance, including replacing broken peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and monitors

  • Change toner cartridges and clear paper jams on printers

  • Support staff and students with basic IT issues

  • Ensure all IT equipment is safe, secure, and ready for use

  • Work proactively as an IT Technician to minimise system downtime

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an IT Technician, ideally in a school or similar setting

  • Strong basic IT knowledge and practical troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively

  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude

  • Must be available to start immediately
