Psychology Graduates – PRU Support Role

Location: Teesside, North East
Pay: £90 – £120 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Hours: Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you a Psychology graduate who wants to make a real difference to young people who have experienced trauma or adversity? GSL Education are recruiting Psychology graduates to work in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Teesside, supporting students who need consistency, understanding, and positive relationships.

This role is ideal for anyone considering a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, mental health, youth work, or teaching, and looking to develop trauma-informed practice in an education setting.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs, additional learning needs, and behaviours that challenge, using a calm and trauma-informed approach
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to help students re-engage with learning
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting emotional regulation, wellbeing, and social development
  • Helping to maintain a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Psychology graduates (or related degrees)
  • Patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient individuals
  • A genuine interest in trauma, mental health, and child development
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people is beneficial but not essential
  • Team Teach training is an asset but not essential
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
