Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham S25
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support that meets their individual needs. You will contribute to the well-being, development, and learning outcomes of students, helping them engage fully with the curriculum and school life.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement personalised support plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages trust and engagement.
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
  • Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development in line with school policies.
  • Support students with social and emotional development strategies.
  • Assist with personal care and daily routines where needed, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to provide holistic care.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEMH Support Worker, or similar role is preferred.
  • Understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
  • A patient, compassionate, and supportive approach to working with children.
