About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of students. You will work closely with teaching staff to implement personalised learning strategies and ensure each student receives the support they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering personalised learning plans to meet individual student needs.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development within the classroom.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages engagement and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and activities.
- Support students with personal care or eating where required, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Encourage independence and participation in classroom and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or similar role is preferred.
- Understanding of special educational needs and evidence-based support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting students’ development.
